NETA joins the ASEAN Meeting of the Excise Department towards Carbon Neutrality

Bangkok, October 7, 2022 Recently, executives from Neta Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. attended Excise Department’s ASEAN regional meeting ‘The ASEAN Director-General Meeting on Digital Technologies to Enhance Excise Tax Administration and Moving Forward to Carbon Neutrality’, which was organized to exchange opinions of digital technology in excise tax management. This meeting - hosted by the Excise Department of Thailand - also aims to promote carbon footprint reduction to achieve carbon neutrality among ASEAN countries. The Director-General and the Deputy Director-General from ASEAN countries including representatives from government agencies and private sectors also attended the event.

“Government incentives and measures play pivotal role in accelerating electric vehicle market growth in each country. The Excise Department is one of the main agencies determining such measures. The Excise Department's participation in this ASEAN meeting will enable NETA to acknowledge the guidelines and vision of the Excise Department's operations in ASEAN countries. We aim to formulate NETA's operational plans according to regulations to maximize consumers’ benefits while supporting carbon neutrality policies in each country,” said Mr. Bao Zhuangfei, General Manager, Neta Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

In August, NETA officially made its debut in the ASEAN market with the unveil of NETA V – an electric city car - in Thailand. In September, Neta also launched NETA U - an electric SUV - in Laos. Both models have been well received by local consumers. NETA will continue to introduce 100% electric vehicles to various ASEAN countries.

At the event, NETA also exhibited NETA V and NETA U, which are built for the ASEAN market, for attendees to closely experience innovative electric vehicle technology. Representatives from different countries were excited to see both vehicle models especially NETA U. Participants expected that NETA would introduce NETA V and NETA U to the ASEAN market, providing more choices for consumers.
